The real him
Is hidden behind his eyes
His hand covers his face
He can't let you in
For fear of the darkness
You bring
That trails off you like a cloak
Tainting the floorboards
Casting shadows on the walls
He always hiding some part
His eyes
His mouth
The very skin he's in
Can barely keep him together
He stitches himself shut
Holds himself together
For one more day
He promises himself
He'll be hidden
He'll keep himself together.
